We wish to encourage
and support the indigenous African population and people of African
origin living outside the continent, to take the lead in this
mission. Akeba sees the capacity building of this group as
essential particularly with training and knowledge building in
vocational, educational, networking, social and business skills
areas. Akeba also promotes the
understanding and removal of various obstacles or conditions that
inhibit sustainable development and growth.
Another important factor for Akeba is
the
unification of alienated indigenous Africans and people of African
origin & their communities. Events, workshops, seminars, discussion forums
and other activities are organised that inform participants on their shared
heritage and positive cultural values. We also encourage the
sustained transmission of ancient or modern African cultures,
histories, achievements and global presence from one generation of
African ancestors to their descendants, and contribute in enhancing
methods of generational learning. Research is done in order to
produce educational programs and materials, boards and
qualifications which cover various aspects and levels of study.
Akeba additionally has an interest
in
providing relief to indigenous Africans and people of African origin
suffering from loss of human rights, extreme hardship and
other adverse circumstances.
All our fundraising
projects and activities are to enable the achievement of the
organisation’s aims and objectives. We also network with other
charities and organisations to achieve any common goals.
